Take a guided day trip from Malaga to Cordoba by bus. Explore the Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Spain’s most visited monuments, with entry tickets included. Stroll the charming streets of the Jewish Quarter on a walking tour and marvel at the ancient Synagogue.

Take the bus from Malaga, stop in Lucena during 30 minutes to have a breakfast or take a quick walk, a typical village of Cordoba, and after this reach the historic center of Cordoba. Cross the Roman Bridge, famous for being the setting for the hit TV show Game of Thrones. Follow your guide on a 1-hour walk through a well-preserved historic neighborhood of the Caliphate city, the Jewish quarter of Cordoba.

Take a stroll down the famous street of Calleja de las Flores, also known as the Handkerchief Lane. Pass by the Synagogue of Cordoba, the only synagogue that has been preserved in Andalusia after the expulsion of the Jews in 1492.

Continue to one of the most important squares in the middle of the Jewish quarter, Plaza Maimónides. See its characteristic bronze statue of Maimónides, in honor of this famous Cordobian Jewish philosopher and physician. Then, head to the Patio de los Naranjos to start a guided tour of the Great Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba, one of Spain’s most celebrated monuments. Learn how the opulent house of worship was originally built as a mosque in the 8th century and later converted into a cathedral. Later, get some free time to stroll through the historic center of the city. See key monuments like the Alcazar of the Christian Monarchs, the Plaza de la Corredera, and the Patios de San Basilio. Try local gastronomy such as flamenquines (fried pork rolls) or salmorejo (cold tomato soup).

Visiting Tetouan market is definitely a must do experience, stepping in to another world. The ferry rides were great (comfortable ships with good amenities) and coach very comfortable. Transiting through customs coming and going was smooth. It is a long day but worth it. I would have liked to have seen some other points of interest in Morocco, rather than spending so much time in the old pharmacy – I had no interest in buying products so it did feel like a waste of precious visiting time personally. The main guide that stays with you all the time was very on the ball and organised, which is what you need for such a day trip

The day trip was very good and very interesting. A couple of things I wished I knew before booking and going which would have better set expectations is (1) expect to spend a couple of hours at the border crossing between Spain and Morocco, (2) take lots of small change as you are expected to tip everyone and there is no real opportunity once you are there to get change and (3) do not expect to be able to go off on your own to look around the market. The only negative I have to say was when I looking at the beautiful handmade rugs they were extremely persistent in trying to sell to you which I found a little intimidating. Otherwise it was a really good day out.
